It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Shihan Sabela, the Southern African Chairman.
Shihan died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday as he was walking into his dojo.
Shihan Sabela was a long time member of Kyokushin and one of the original members of the IKO-Matsushima organisation.
Shihan Sabela built the South African IKO-Matsushima organisation to a very successful organisation and one we were all proud of. He was a great Kyokushin karate-ka as well as an outstanding human being.
On behalf of Kancho Matsushima and myself, we extend our deepest regrets and condolences to his family and friends.He was both well liked and respected around the World and there can be no doubt that his demise is a sad lose to Kyokushin and his many friends.
